Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-09-08.
Ridgeline is a small, early-stage project. Checkout isn't live yet - everything below describes what's actually true about the site today, and what to expect once ordering opens, not a fully lawyered agreement. If something here matters to you, email [email protected]and ask.
What Ridgeline does
Ridgeline turns a place you search for into a custom line-art print, generated from real elevation data. You can preview and customize a plot (palette, typeface, aspect ratio, and more) for free. Ordering a physical print, apparel, or digital download is coming in a future update - nothing on this site charges you money yet.
Elevation data accuracy
Plots are generated from third-party elevation datasets (Copernicus GLO-30 and CGIAR-CSI SRTM - see the "Data & credits" note on the main page). This data is provided "as is," with no warranty of accuracy. Very narrow or steep features (a sharp spire, a glaciated peak) can read lower than their real published elevation - see the main page's own credits for why. Plots are decorative art, not a survey-grade representation of any location.
When ordering does go live
Physical products will most likely be fulfilled through a third-party print-on-demand partner, and pricing shown in the studio is indicative and subject to change before checkout actually opens. You'll get a chance to review the final price and order details before paying for anything.
Acceptable use
Don't use Ridgeline to abuse the underlying services it depends on (automated scraping, excessive request volume, or anything that would get the site's own access to those services revoked). Generated plots are yours to use personally; if you want to resell prints made from this site at scale, ask first.
No warranty, limited liability
The site is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows it, Ridgeline isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.
Changes
These terms may change as the product does, especially once ordering goes live and there's a real transaction to define terms around. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date at the top of this page.
